Neighbor Door Dash

This is such a good example of what I say all the time. Food connects us. My neighbors, Brenda and Dave, texted us that they miss going out to eat with us and told us that they were going to make us dinner instead.  It’s usually us, them, and another next door neighbor. Brenda told us, “even though we can’t eat together, I’ll drop everything off on your porch.”
They have a Traeger smoker, and they smoked these whole chickens all day for us. When the doorbell rang, and we brought that puppy in from the porch, my entire house smelled like a gourmet Southern barbeque. It was divine. They also made us roasted potatoes and broccoli. Even though I don’t have the recipe for this, I had to put the post up. This was such a thoughtful and really creative way to connect us during this crazy time.  I say it all the time. Food brings people together in a positive way. Even though we can’t go out to one of our favorite restaurants like we usually do, and even though we couldn’t dine together tonight, it didn’t spoil our fun. Brenda and Dave’s neighbor door dash was one of our most special experiences over the past couple of weeks. I share this with you, because you could do something like this with your neighbors too. Thank you Brenda and Dave!  Bon Appetit!
