With cobblestone streets, ivy lined buildings, quaint boutiques and snow capped mountains in the background, the Village of Gruyere was like out of a movie. It was completely serene. Where it was a little chilly this time of year, I could imagine these tables filled with people during the Summer months, enjoying their lunch as they relax with this beautiful view. There are some towns that just touch you when you visit them. Something moves your soul as you stroll through its streets and explore its nooks and crannies. I'm not exactly sure what it was, but the Village of Gruyere is one of those places for me. It may have been the cobblestone streets. It may have been the ivy. It could have been the snow capped mountains in the background. But then, add in stone buildings, wooden shutters, and rounded archways, and sprinkle in a complete feeling of peace and serenity. I guess it was the whole combination and just the right amounts of these beautiful elements, the perfect receipt to a gorgeous village. I would love to know the places you've been that have touched your soul and with as much curiosity, why it touched your soul. Email me. What do I have to add to my buck-list?
